Sam, Product Support Team Leader (Woking)
I joined Fidessa in 2007 as a Graduate Software Support Analyst after graduating as a Computer Systems Engineer from the University of Manchester.
My role involved working as part of a team providing technical support to our clients in the financial sector. Whilst technical, the role also includes a large amount of customer interaction building up a knowledge base and troubleshooting the issues raised.
Thankfully, and especially seeing as it was my first full-time job, I was given a whole host of training. This intensive training introduced me to both the financial markets and also how Fidessa and its products work within the industry. I undertook this training with a large number of other graduates in a similar situation to myself having moved to a new area with no industry experience. I continue to find myself working and interacting with the friends I met in the first few weeks across different parts of the company.
During the last few years I have increasingly taken on new responsibilities becoming a senior member of my original team and subsequently moving within Support to take on a more technical role. With the experience I've gained, I now work as a product specialist providing technical assistance both within the department, but also liaising with other departments within the business.
