Emma, Software Developer (Belfast)
I joined Fidessa in 2009 as a Graduate Developer after completing a BSc in Computing Science at the University of Ulster.
I decided to apply for a job at Fidessa after hearing about the company from an employee at the graduate careers fair and it sounded like a good, interesting and challenging company to work for.
The first few months were spent attending training courses at the London and Woking offices. As well as what I learnt on these courses there was also a lot to learn within my team in Belfast - everyone was very friendly, helpful and approachable which made this much easier and it didn't take long before I was given some small fixes to work on. The work has always been kept interesting and challenging as I was gradually given more difficult work to complete.
I have recently completed writing a new market data feed handler which was again another challenging learning experience.
