Environment Policy
Fidessa, by its nature as a software product and services group, has a relatively minor negative environmental impact.
We meet legal and regulatory requirements, considering them as minimum acceptable standards to be exceeded wherever practical. We actively look for cost-effective ways of monitoring our environmental impact to ensure we operate with sustainability in mind.
For example we:
- communicate and conduct business activities electronically to help reduce the waste we produce
- minimise the use of paper in the office and seek to buy recycled and recyclable paper products
- reuse and recycle where possible, particularly in the use of paper, plastics and electronic equipment
- seek to reduce our consumption of energy
- use 'energy save' mode on electronic equipment and use of energy saving lighting with auto-sensors in our offices
- ensure our global datacentres are as environmentally friendly as possible, by using features such as cold/hot aisle management, high-efficiency chillers and ozone friendly suppressants
- use video conferencing and network meeting facilities to minimise need for business travel
- avoid unnecessary waste of resources
- consider the environmental impact of any new products we intend to purchase
- use environmentally friendly materials in office refurbishments
- use licensed and appropriate organisations to dispose of waste
- use suppliers who have appropriate documented policies and procedures
We monitor and improve where we can by:
- monitoring our environmental performance
- incorporating environmental factors into business decisions
- increasing employee awareness
- working with suppliers, contractors and sub-contractors to improve their environmental performance
- producing an environmental report on an annual basis
