It provides the optimum solution for high performance best-of-breed products. It significantly differentiates us from our competitors, providing agile integration and throughput well in excess of levels achieved using standard database architectures.

We use a service-oriented, event-driven architecture, which scales from single-site asset managers up to the largest global players who trade high volumes in multiple locations on a 24x7 basis. We use web services and browser applications where appropriate.

All Fidessa LatentZero components communicate via the LatentZero API, which is published and available to clients. This means that the architecture is truly open, enabling clients to easily integrate in-house systems and packages from third-party vendors. We actively encourage clients to develop their own components and integrate other products, including Microsoft Excel. This integration has required little or no support from Fidessa LatentZero.

Our data model utilizes a meta-data approach, enabling clients to define and load any data attributes that are required to support front office processes. These data attributes are then available throughout the LatentZero architecture. For example they can be used in the construction of Sentinel rules and are available in Minerva trading blotters. Data loading can be performed while Fidessa LatentZero systems are online, with no downtime or performance impact.

We have clients in production with interfaces to all of the industry standard back office and data warehouse platforms, including those from Thomson Financial, DST and Sungard, to name a few.

All Fidessa LatentZero server processes integrate with industry-standard support tools such as BMC Patrol and AutoSys, enabling our software to be easily and reliably integrated into existing production support environments.

    Client Applications
  • Standard desktop platforms - Microsoft Windows 2000/XP
  • GUIs developed utilising .NET, ActiveX technologies and C++
  • Browser-based reporting and other applications where appropriate

    Application Servers
  • Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) with high performance, scaleable application servers
  • App servers developed in C++, cross compiled on NT, Unix and Linux
  • Message-based XML publish/subscribe middle layer provides an asynchronous event-driven architecture
  • Utilizes a choice of 3rd party middleware, for example TIBCO SmartSockets, TIBCO Rendezvous, IBM MQ Series, or our own TCP/IP connectivity
  • Open APIs enable easy integration with other systems. Available as ActiveX on NT, C on Unix and NT and pure Java on any supporting environment

    Database
  • Persistent storage in relational databases on Windows and Unix
  • Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle are our current development platforms. Other ANSI-standard relational databases can be supported if required

    3rd Party Application Servers

LatentZero's Java APIs can be integrated with J2EE Application Server and Servlet Engines such as:

  • IBM Websphere
  • BEA Weblogic
  • Apache Tomcat
